This delicious pie is a take on traditional North Carolina lemonade served above and below the


Atlantic Ocean.

1 1/2 handfuls salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup refined sugar


1 14 oz. -may sweeten whole milk

4 large egg yolks

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 cups heavy cream

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. On the ground: heavy crushing. Combine ground hazelnuts, oil and sugar in a

medium bowl. Mix until well combined and the crumbs hold together when pressed with your fingers.


Press the mixture up and down the sides of the 9 pins. Bake the crust for 10 minutes. Bake the crust

over medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let the bowl cool slightly for about 10


Step 2

For the filling: Whisk the sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, lemon juice and lemon juice until

smooth. Pour the filling into the baking dish. Return the tarts to the oven and bake for 15 minutes

until the filling is set in the center. Cover the cakes on a rack at room temperature for 1 hour, then

refrigerate until cool, at least 2 hours or overnight. Before serving, cover the cake with whipped cream

and citrus slices.
