Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
Bake:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
Make the Caramel Frosting:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and heavy cream, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
Let the caramel mixture cool slightly, then gradually beat in the powdered sugar until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
If it’s too thick, add more cream, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
Assemble the Cake:
Place one cake layer on your serving plate and spread with frosting. Repeat with the remaining layers.
Cover the entire cake with a thin crumb coat of frosting, then chill for 30 minutes.
After the crumb coat is set, finish frosting the cake with the remaining caramel frosting.
Serve:
Slice and serve the cake once the frosting has set. Optionally, you can drizzle additional caramel sauce over the cake for an extra touch of decadence.
This cake is perfect for celebrations, offering a rich caramel flavor that’s sure to impress any dessert lover.
