Fudge is a delightful treat that melts in your mouth, offering a perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess.

This recipe will guide you through creating your own homemade fudge, similar to the one shown in the image.

Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, this step-by-step guide will help you make delicious fudge that everyone will love.

2 cups of granulated sugar

1 cup of whole milk

1/4 cup of unsalted butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Prepare Your Equipment:

Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Set aside a candy thermometer for precise temperature measurement.

Mix the Ingredients:

In a medium-sized heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, whole milk, unsalted butter, and salt.

Cook the Mixture:

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Attach the candy thermometer to the side of the pan, making sure it does not touch the bottom.

Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage, about 234°F (112°C).

Cool the Mixture:

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool to around 110°F (43°C) without stirring. This will take about 10-15 minutes.

Beat the Mixture:

Once cooled, add the vanilla extract.

Using a wooden spoon, beat the mixture until it thickens and loses some of its gloss. This step is crucial for achieving the right texture.

Pour and Set:

Pour the thickened mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Smooth the top with a spatula.

Let it cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate it for faster setting.

Cut into Squares:

Once set, remove the fudge from the baking dish and cut it into small squares.

Tips for Perfect Fudge:

Consistent Stirring: Initially, stir constantly to dissolve the sugar completely.

Temperature Control: Using a candy thermometer ensures the fudge reaches the correct temperature.

Patience: Allow the mixture to cool and beat it adequately to achieve the perfect texture.

Enjoying Your Fudge:

Fudge makes a great gift or a delightful treat for yourself. Store it in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator to keep it fresh longer.
