Delightful Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

A Pineapple Upside-Down Cake is a timeless dessert that brings a touch of tropical sweetness to your table.

The golden caramelized pineapples on top of a moist and buttery cake create a beautiful and delicious treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

This classic recipe is easy to follow and yields a stunning dessert that will impress your guests.

1/4 cup butter (melted)

1 cup brown sugar

1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices (drained)

10 maraschino cherries (optional)

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup butter (softened)

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup milk

Prepare the Topping:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter.

Arrange the pineapple slices on top of the brown sugar in a single layer.

If using, place a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.

Make the Cake Batter:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Assemble and Bake:

Pour the batter evenly over the pineapple slices in the baking pan.

Smooth the top with a spatula to ensure even coverage.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.

Invert and Serve:

Run a knife around the edges of the cake to loosen it.

Place a serving platter or baking sheet over the pan and carefully invert the cake onto the platter.

Let the pan sit for a few minutes to allow the topping to settle.

Gently lift off the pan, revealing the caramelized pineapple topping.

Serve the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake warm or at room temperature.

For an extra indulgent treat, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on the side.

This Pineapple Upside-Down Cake is a delightful blend of flavors and textures that will transport you to a tropical paradise with each bite.

Its beautiful presentation and delicious taste make it a perfect dessert for family gatherings, potlucks, or any special occasion.

Enjoy the burst of sweetness and the buttery cake in every slice!
