Ingredients:

1.5 cups all-purpose flour

9 ounces milk

½ cup cold, diced butter

½ cup molasses

½ cup corn syrup

½ cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon and Pumpkin Pie Spice

For the frosting:

1.5 cups powdered sugar

4 ounces cream cheese

¼ cup softened butter

3 teaspoons molasses

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

First, preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 5×9 baking pan lined with greaseproof paper and

parchment paper.

Mix flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice in a bowl.

Heat milk and brown sugar in a saucepan until sugar dissolves and mixture is warm. In a separate pan,

gently heat the molasses and corn syrup.

Mix the cold butter into the flour mixture until a coarse crumb forms.Add the milk mixture to the

flour, followed by the molasses mixture.

Beat the egg until smooth, pour into the prepared tin and bake for about 45 minutes. Test whether it

is done with a toothpick.

Let the cake cool, then wrap it in aluminum foil and set it aside for a day to let it become sticky.

For the glaze:
