Ham and Cheese Pinwheels Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 slices of ham
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your preferred type)
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases.
- Add the Filling:
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the puff pastry sheet, if using.
- Evenly layer the ham slices over the mustard.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the ham.
- Roll and Slice:
- Carefully roll the puff pastry sheet tightly into a log, starting from one of the longer edges.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
- Prepare for Baking:
- Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Allow the pinwheels to cool slightly before serving.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
