HOMEMADE ORANGE CUPCAKES
Ingredients:
° 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
° 1 teaspoon baking powder
° 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
° 1/4 teaspoon salt

° 1 c granulated sugar
° 2 l eggs
° 2 t Vanilla extract
°1/2 cup squeezed orange juice

°1 tablespoon freshly grated orange peel
°1/2 cup milk
Methods
Set the oven to 180°C (350°F) and place the cupcake cases in a muffin tin.

Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes.

Mix the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla.Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with
orange juice and quark.

Fill the cupcake cases about two-thirds full with the batter and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a
toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcakes comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before removing and placing on a wire rack to cool
completely.

Once the cupcakes have cooled, it’s time to get creative with the toppings.Mix 1/2 cup unsalted
butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, and 1 teaspoon orange zest until
smooth. Using a large star-shaped tip, pipe the icing onto the cupcake.
Orange Glaze: Heat 1/2 cup fresh orange juice and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a small saucepan until
sugar dissolves. Once cooled, spread the frosting over the cupcake.
For the candied oranges, cut the fresh oranges into thin circles and sprinkle with sugar.Place the slices

under the broiler for two to three minutes, or until the sugar turns golden brown. Place the candied
orange slices on the cupcake.
