Homemade Tapioca Pudding Recipe

1/2 cup small pearl tapioca

2 cups whole milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Ground cinnamon or Nutmeg for decoration (optional)

Preparation: First rinse the tapioca pearls with cold water and let them drain well.

Soak tapioca: In a medium saucepan, combine the tapioca pearls with 1 cup whole milk. Let them soak for about

30 minutes.

Mix ingredients: Add the remaining 1 cup milk, salt and sugar to the pot. Mix well to make sure everything is

evenly distributed.Cooking: Place the pot over medium heat and allow the mixture to simmer. Stir frequently to

prevent sticking. Once simmering, reduce heat to low and continue stirring constantly for 10 to 15 minutes, or

until the tapioca pearls become translucent and the mixture thickens.

Temper eggs: Remove the pot from the heat. Take a small amount of the hot tapioca mixture and gradually add it

to the beaten eggs to temper them and prevent them from mixing when you return to the pot.

Thicken the pudding: Return the tempered egg mixture to the pot, now over medium-low heat.Cook, stirring

constantly, for another 2-3 minutes or until the pudding reaches a thick consistency.

Add flavor: Remove the pot from the heat again and add the vanilla extract to give the pudding its rich flavor.

Cool and Chill: Pour the pudding into individual bowls or one large bowl. Let it cool at room temperature for a

few minutes. Then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until completely cold.To serve: Before serving, garnish

the tapioca pudding with a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to give it a warm, spicy touch.

This homemade tapioca pudding recipe is a tribute to the special moments that food can create and connect us

to our past and each other. It’s a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the enduring love with which recipes

like this are passed down from generation to generation. Enjoy this comforting treat with your loved ones and

may it bring as much joy to your table as it did to mine.
