Ingredients for Homemade Yogurt Biscuits
Ingredients for Homemade Yogurt Biscuits
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in Butter: Add the cold, diced butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add Yogurt: Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yogurt. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Knead Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
- Cut Biscuits: Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
- Serve: Allow the biscuits to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving warm.
