Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, combining two classic favorites into


one delicious dish. This hearty casserole features layers of creamy mac and cheese and savory

meatloaf, topped with melted cheese. It’s perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or any occasion where

you want to serve a filling and satisfying meal.


For the Meatloaf:

2 pounds ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs


1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce


1 large egg

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Mac and Cheese:

1 pound elbow macaroni

4 tablespoons butter


1/4 cup all-purpose flour

4 cups milk

4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika

For the Topping:

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)




Prepare the Meatloaf:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion,

minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well


Press the meatloaf mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish, forming an even layer.

Cook the Macaroni:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to the

package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce:

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes

until the mixture is bubbly and lightly golden.

Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until

the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Combine Mac and Cheese:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing until the pasta is

fully coated.

Assemble the Casserole:

Spoon the mac and cheese mixture over the meatloaf layer in the baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the mac and cheese layer.

Bake the Casserole:

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.


Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
