Mom’s Cornbread Dressing

Are you ready to make the best cornbread dressing of your life? You’re lucky! This old-fashioned dressing recipe will quickly become a family favorite.

or 3 cups crumbled cornbread
or 2 tablespoons butter
or 1 small onion, diced
or ½ cup chopped celery
or 2 large eggs, beaten

or 2 cups chicken broth
or 1 tablespoon dried sage or more to taste
or Salt and ground black pepper to taste

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).Grease a 7×11 inch baking dish. Place the crumbled cornbread in a large bowl.
2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery and sauté until softened, 5 to 7 minutes.3. Add fried onions and celery to crumbled cornbread. Add chicken broth, eggs,
sage, salt and pepper until well blended. Pour the dressing into the prepared baking dish.
4.Bake in the preheated oven until the topping begins to brown around the edges, about 30 minutes.
