Patty Melts with Secret Sauce



For the patty melts:

o 1 lb.Ground beef

o 6 Slices rye bread

o ½ tsp.Onion powder


o ½ tsp.Garlic powder

o Salt and pepper to taste

o 6 Slices cheddar cheese

o 6 Sliced provolone cheese

o 6 Tbsp.Butter softened and unsalted


For the secret sauce:

o ¼ C.Mayonnaise

or 2 tbsp. Chopped bacon pieces

or 3 tbsp. Ketchup

or 1 teaspoon Sugar


or 1 teaspoon Spices

How to prepare Patty Melts with Secret Sauce

1.Form the meat into three flat flat cakes that are roughly the same shape as the bread slices.

2. Season the meat on both sides with onion powder, garlic powder and salt and pepper.

3. Cook burgers on the stove over medium-high heat until cooked through.Remove from pan.

4. While the meat is cooking, mix the sauce ingredients well.


5. Clean the pan in which the meat was cooked and reduce the heat to medium.6. Grease one side of each piece

of bread well.

7. Place three pieces of bread, buttered side down, in the pan.

8.Top each slice of bread with 2 slices of provolone cheese, a beef patty, and 2 slices of cheddar cheese.

9. Add some sauce to the non-buttered side of the remaining bread slices and place them, sauce side down, on

top of the melted burgers in the pan.

10. Once the provolone has melted and one side of the bun is nicely toasted, flip the melted burgers over.11.

Toast the other side of the bread well and then serve.
