Salmon burgers are a delicious and nutritious meal, perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner. These

burgers are made from a mixture of canned salmon, breadcrumbs, and various spices, then deep-fried

to create a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful interior. Here’s a classic recipe to make your own

salmon burgers at home.

• 2 cans (14.75 ounces each) salmon, drained and crumbled

• 2 eggs, beaten

• 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

• 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crackers

• 1/4 cup milk

• 1 tablespoon lemon juice

• 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)

• Olive oil or vegetable oil, e.g. frying

• Salt, to taste

1. Prepare the salmon:

o Carefully place the canned salmon in a large bowl, removing the skin and bones if necessary. Some

people prefer to leave the bones in to add calcium: they are soft and edible.

2. Mix the ingredients:

o To the crumbled salmon, add the beaten eggs, finely chopped onions, breadcrumbs, milk, lemon

juice, Dijon mustard, black pepper, garlic powder and dill.Mix everything well until the mixture is

homogeneous. If the mixture seems too wet, you can add some more breadcrumbs to help it come

together better.

3. Form hamburgers:

o Form hamburgers from the mixture with your hands. Depending on the size you want, you can

prepare between 8 and 12 burgers. If the mixture sticks to your hands, moistening them lightly with

water may help.

4. Cook the burgers:

o Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully

place the salmon burgers in the pan.

o Cook the burgers for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. If

necessary, work in batches to avoid crowding the pan, adding more oil as needed.

5. Serve:

o Serve the salmon burgers hot with the side dishes of your choice. They are usually served with a

side of tartar sauce, lemon wedges for squeezing, or a creamy dill sauce.
