Creating a spectacular burger with a secret or “confidential” sauce can turn a simple burger into a

delicious masterpiece. The secret to a spectacular burger lies in the technique and seasoning that

creates a crispy exterior and a juicy interior. Confidential Sauce, a blend of salty, sweet and spicy

flavors, provides the perfect finishing touch. Here’s a guide to creating your own version of this



Smashing Patty Ingredients:

• 1 pound (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend for optimal juiciness)

• Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

• 4 toasted hamburger buns

• Lettuce, tomato slices and thinly sliced Onions for serving the


Confidential Sauce Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup mayonnaise

• 2 tablespoons ketchup

• 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

• 1 tablespoon sweet pickle sauce

• 1 teaspoon white vinegar


• 1 teaspoon paprika

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1 teaspoon onion powder

• Salt and pepper to taste





• In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, white vinegar, paprika, garlic

powder and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are completely mixed.

• Taste and season with salt and pepper. Place in the fridge to cool and blend the flavors.


• Divide the ground meat into 4 equal portions. Don’t form patties yet; The key to a good smashed

burger is to start with a loose ball to ensure a tender texture.


• Preheat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat. For perfect browning, the surface should be very


hot.• Place a ball of minced meat in the pan, then flatten it into a thin patty using a sturdy spatula

(and a second spatula or strong press for leverage if necessary). Season with salt and pepper.

• Cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy. Flip the

burger, season again and cook for another minute. Repeat with the remaining meat portions.4.


• Spread a generous amount of Confidential Sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

• Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom of each sauce-covered bun, followed by a tomato slice and an

onion slice.

• Place the hot, crispy burger on the onions and cover with the top half of the bun.


• Serve the burgers immediately, while they are still hot and juicy, accompanied by your favorite sides

such as fries or a simple green salad.


• Meat Temperature: For safety, ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F

(71°C). However, shredding burgers shortens cooking time and can help reach a safe temperature

without overcooking them.
