Southern Tea Cake Cookies

o 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
o ¼ teaspoon salt
o ¼ teaspoon baking soda
o 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
o 3/4 cup granulated sugar

o 1 Tbsp eggs room temperature, pure ingredients
How to Make Southern Tea Cake Cookies
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside
2. In the bowl of the stand mixer. Add butter and sugar. Then mix together on high speed until
smooth and creamy (about 4-5 minutes)
3.Turn the mixer up to medium speed. Add 1 egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined

4. Finally, turn on the mixer on low speed. And add the flour mixture, beat occasionally. Mix well three
times after mixing
5. After mixing the flour well. Turn off the mixer and remove the dough from the mixer and place it in
a Ziploc bag and refrigerate for at least an hour to harden.6. When the dough is firm. Take it out of
the fridge. and preheat the oven to 325 degrees

7. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
8.Use an icespoon scoop to scoop out a tablespoon-sized portion of the cookie dough and roll it into
a ball. Use your thumb to gently press the center. Beat it a little and put it in the pan
9. We do the same with the remaining dough. Leave at least 1 1/2 inches of space between each
dough ball.
10.Bake it for 9-11 minutes until the edges are golden, then take it out of the oven
