 Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 6 large eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

 Directions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat to 325°F (165°C)

  • Grease and flour a Bundt pan or large tube pan

2. Prepare the Cake Batter

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy

  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition

  • Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour

  • Stir in vanilla extract

3. Bake

  • Pour batter into prepared pan

  • Bake for 70–80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean

  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack

4. Make the Glaze

  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth

  • Drizzle over the cooled cake
