Cheesy Sausage and Potato Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs of potatoes, peeled and diced
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
1 large onion, sliced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1/2 cup cream (or milk for a lighter version)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme), for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if you are baking.
Prepare the Ingredients:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the sliced onions and sauté until they begin to soften.

Add the sausage slices and cook until browned.
Layer the Dish:
In a large baking dish or slow cooker, layer half of the diced potatoes.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Add half of the sautéed onions and sausage on top of the potatoes.

Sprinkle with half of the cheese.
Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, onions, sausage, and cheese.
Add Liquids:
Pour the broth and cream over the layers.
Cook:
If baking, cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to brown the top.
If using a slow cooker, cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the potatoes are tender.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
