Ingredients
  

  • For the Patties:
  • pounds ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • For the Gravy:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Shape into 4–5 oval patties.
  4. Sear patties for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Make the gravy in the same skillet by whisking flour and butter, then adding beef broth and seasonings.
  6. Transfer patties to a baking dish and pour gravy over the top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with sides of your choice.

Notes

Add mushrooms for a savory mushroom gravy version.
Sprinkle cheddar for a cheesy twist.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
