  • For the Pastry:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup cold water
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp beef suet optional

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, salt, and butter until crumbly. Add water, form dough, chill 30 min.
  2. Cook beef and onions, season well.
  3. Roll pastry into circles, add filling.
  4. Fold over, crimp edges, brush with egg wash.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 25–30 min until golden.

Notes

Chill pastry for best results.
Egg wash makes them glossy.
Freeze uncooked bridies for later.
