Nestlé Toll House Death by Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  

  • Cake:
  • - 1 box Devil’s Food cake mix
  • - 1 box 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix
  • - 5 large eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - ¾ cup brewed coffee
  • - 1 cup sour cream or buttermilk
  • - ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • - 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips
  • ### Ganache:
  • - 1 stick salted butter
  • - 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • - ½ box powdered sugar about 1 ½ cups
  • - 3 tablespoons milk
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - ½ cup pecan pieces

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and pudding mix.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, vanilla, brewed coffee, sour cream, and oil.
  4. Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a platter.
  8. For ganache, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  9. Stir in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk, whisking until smooth.
  10. Remove from heat and add vanilla and pecans.
  11. Drizzle ganache over the cooled cake and serve.

Notes

- Add espresso powder for deeper flavor.
- Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
- Freeze slices for up to 3 months.
