  • - 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • - ½ teaspoon salt
  • - 1 cup milk
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans. Frost as desired.
