Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
Cook the Filling:
In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped steak and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally.
Add the onions and bell peppers (if using) to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, and the beef is fully cooked. Remove from heat and allow the filling to cool slightly.

Assemble the Egg Rolls:
Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner pointing towards you (like a diamond shape).
Add a spoonful of the steak mixture in the center of the wrapper, then sprinkle some mozzarella or provolone cheese over the filling.
Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, then fold in the two side corners. Roll tightly and seal the top corner with a bit of water to ensure the egg roll stays closed.
Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Fry the Egg Rolls:
Heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Carefully add a few egg rolls to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the egg rolls with a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
Serve:
Serve the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls hot, with your favorite dipping sauce, such as cheese sauce, marinara, or ranch.
Tips:
If you prefer to bake them, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the egg rolls on a baking sheet, brush them with oil, and bake for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until they’re golden and crispy.
You can also air-fry these egg rolls at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through.
