Instructions:
Prepare the Ribs:
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) or preheat your grill to medium-low heat.
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (this helps the seasoning penetrate and makes the ribs more tender).
In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper if using.
Season the Ribs:

Rub the olive oil over the ribs, then generously coat the ribs with the seasoning mix, pressing it into the meat.
If time allows, let the ribs marinate in the seasoning for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.
Cook the Ribs:
Oven Method: Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil or on a wire rack over a foil-lined sheet. Cover the ribs with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender and the meat starts to pull away from the bones.
Grill Method: Place the ribs on the grill, cover, and cook for 2-3 hours over indirect heat, turning occasionally, until tender.

Glaze the Ribs:
During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce. If using a grill, you can increase the heat slightly or move the ribs to direct heat to caramelize the sauce, being careful not to burn it.
Serve:
Remove the ribs from the oven or grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Cut between the bones to separate the ribs and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
