Derby Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Pie Crust:
1 pre-made pie crust (or you can make your own favorite recipe)
For the Filling:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Optional: 2 tablespoons Kentucky bourbon (for authentic flavor)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Pie Crust:

Roll out the pie crust and gently fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges as desired.
Mix the Filling:
In a large bowl, mix the sugar and flour.
Stir in the eggs and melted butter until well combined.
Add the chopped pecans, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and bourbon if using. Stir until everything is well incorporated.
