FRIED APPLE or PEACH SEEDS

 

Ingredients

8 ounces dried apples or peaches

1 cup water

1/3 cup sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 tsp. Spices for apple or cinnamon cakes

1 can of chilled jumbo puff pastry cookies

Vegetable oil for frying

Preparation of fried apple or peach cakes

1. In a pot, combine apples and water and bring to the boil. Be sure to cover, reduce heat and simmer until

tender, about 30 minutes. Once ready, remove from heat and allow to cool. If the pieces are large, crush them

slightly.Then you can add sugar and butter; Save the mixture.

2. For the filling: If using fresh apples, you will need to add 2 tablespoons of butter to a large pan and melt.

Immediately add 4 peeled, cored and chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon and 1 teaspoon lemon juice and cook

over medium heat for 15 minutes, or until apples are soft. Then remove from the heat, mix a little and let cool.3.

Now, on a lightly floured surface, roll each cookie out into a 5-inch circle, then place about 1 tablespoon of apple

mixture on half of each cookie circle. Be sure to dip your fingers in water and moisten the edges of the circles to

seal the tarts. Remember to fold the dough in half and make sure the edges are even. Then press the edges with

a fork dipped in flour to seal.

4.When ready, pour the oil into a heavy skillet to a depth of 1cm or use a deep fryer. Then immediately fry the

cakes in hot oil (370°) over medium-high heat until golden brown, turning once. Make sure you don’t rush it

because you want the cookie to be fully baked.

5. Finally, drain well on kitchen paper.This should make 10 cakes.

RECIPE NOTES:

All you need is to seal the edge well and not make any holes when moving. Make sure you don’t fry them too

quickly or the inside won’t cook. Enjoy the most delicious FRIED APPLE PIE you have ever tasted.
