Italian Crescent Casserole

Italian Crescent Casserole is a delicious dish that combines the flavors of Italian cuisine with the convenience of a

casserole. Here is a simple recipe to make it:


• 1 pound ground Italian sausage

• 1 small onion, diced

• 2 cloves garlic, minced


• 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce

• 1 can (14.5 ounces) chopped tomatoes, diced, drained

• 1 teaspoon dried basil

• 1 teaspoon dried oregano

• salt and pepper to taste


• 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated roll dough

• 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese


1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, cook Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking up into crumbles as it

cooks.Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion softens.


3. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5


4.Roll out the crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.

5. Distribute the sausage mixture evenly over the bottom of the bun.

6. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese over the sausage mixture.7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25


minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the muffin crust is golden brown.

8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving.
