Lazy Day Oatmeal Cake




or 1 cup raw rolled oats (instant or regular, I used rolled oats)

or 1 1/4 cups boiling water

or 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine


or 1 cup granulated sugar

or 1 teaspoon vanilla

or 2 eggs

or 1 1/2 cups flour

or 1 teaspoon baking powder


or 1/2 teaspoon salt

or 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

or 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


or 1/4 cup Butter or 1/4 cup melted margarine


or 1/2 cup brown sugar

or 3 tablespoons cream or 3 tablespoons milk

or 3/4 cup shredded coconut

or 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)



How to prepare oatmeal cake for relaxed Days to


1. In a shallow bowl, soak oats in boiling water for 20 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, add butter and sugar to the mixing bowl and mix until smooth.

3.Add eggs and vanilla.

4. Sift and measure the flour, sift again with soda and spices.

5. By then the oatmeal will be soaked and cold.6. Remove the beaters from the cream mixture and add the soaked oats.

7. Sift the flour mixture and mix in.

8.Place in a buttered 9×9″ pan and bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes.

9. Mix all topping ingredients.


10. Do not remove the cake from the tin, but spread the topping while it is still hot and place it under the grill until it bubbles and is golden brown.11. Watch carefully.
