 Ingredients

  • 250g fresh strawberries, halved

  • 3 eggs

  • 120g sugar

  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)

  • 100ml vegetable oil (e.g., sunflower or canola)

  • 200g all-purpose flour

  • 1 sachet baking powder (10g)

  • A pinch of salt

  • Icing sugar, for dusting

 Directions

1. Prep the Ingredients

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)

  • Line or grease a 9-inch round or square baking pan

2. Make the Batter

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar until light

  • Add milk and oil, mixing well

  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing until smooth

3. Assemble the Cake

  • Place half of the strawberries at the bottom of the prepared pan

  • Pour the batter over the strawberries

  • Top with the remaining strawberry halves, cut side up

4. Bake

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean

  • Let cool completely, then dust with icing sugar
