Air Fryer Fried Chicken

Air Fryer Fried Chicken

4 pieces of chicken (drumsticks, thighs, or breasts)

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl or ziplock bag.

Pour the buttermilk over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.

Cover the bowl or seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).

Step 2: Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.

Step 3: Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.

Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, coating thoroughly.

Shake off any excess flour and place the coated chicken on a plate.

Step 4: Air Fry the Chicken

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Place the coated chicken pieces in the basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding; you may need to

cook in batches.

Lightly spray the top of the chicken with cooking spray to help with crispiness.

Step 5: Cook the Chicken

Air fry the chicken at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.

Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.

If necessary, cook for a few additional minutes to achieve the desired crispiness.

Step 6: Serve

Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes.

Serve hot and enjoy your crispy, delicious air fryer fried chicken.

Marinating Time: The longer you marinate the chicken in buttermilk, the more tender and flavorful it

will be.

Spice Mix: Feel free to adjust the spices according to your preference. Add cayenne pepper for a

spicy kick or use your favorite seasoning blend.
