Cinnamon Swirl Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Bread:

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

3 tablespoons sugar

3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

For the Topping (optional):

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/4 cup sugar

Instructions:

Prepare the Bread:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, cream together 1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 cup softened butter until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla and then beat in the eggs one at a time.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Stir just until combined.

Prepare Cinnamon Swirl:

In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons sugar with 3 teaspoons cinnamon.

Assemble the Bread:

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.

Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon-sugar through the batter.

Bake:

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Prepare the Topping (if using):

Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl.

Brush the top of the hot bread with melted butter and then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Cool:

Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

This cinnamon swirl bread is perfect for breakfast, as a snack, or as a dessert.
