French Onion Beef and Pasta Recipe





– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

– 1 kilo of beef, cut into equal pieces


– 1 tablespoon of onion

– 2 onions, finely chopped

– 3 cloves of garlic, chopped

– 1 tablespoon of tme

– Salt to taste and parsley


– 2 cups of ground meat

– 250 grams of pasta (such as penne or fusilli)

– 1 cup of grated Gruyere cheese

– Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)




1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all

sides, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with onion powder, remove from pan and set aside.

2. Using the same technique, add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about

10 minutes. Add garlic, thyme, salt and pepper and cook for another 2 minutes.

3. Return the meat to the pan and add the broth. Bring to the boil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until


the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.

4. While the beef is cooking, cook the noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain

and set aside.

5. Preheat the grill. Stir cooked noodles into beef mixture until well combined. Place the mixture in a

baking dish and sprinkle Gruyere cheese on top.

6. Place a baking tray under the broiler and cook until the cheese melts and bubbles, about 2-3


7. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, and turn off the heat.
