  •  Salt & black pepper to taste

  •  Optional: red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick

 Instructions:

1. Cook the bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan.

2. Sauté onion and garlic
Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until translucent (about 4 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

3. Add the cabbage
Add sliced cabbage to the skillet in batches, stirring to coat with the bacon grease and onion mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

4. Cook until tender
Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 10–15 minutes or until cabbage is wilted and tender.

5. Add bacon back in
Stir the crispy bacon back into the skillet, mix well, and taste for seasoning.

6. Serve hot
Serve immediately as a side dish or enjoy it as a main with cornbread or rice.

 Tips:

  • Add a splash of apple cider vinegar or a pinch of sugar for a sweet-and-tangy flavor.

  • For a low-carb meal, serve with grilled chicken or sausage.
