Meatball Boats

 

Making meatball boats is a creative and delicious way to enjoy meatballs. Here is a simple recipe:

Ingredients:

For the meatballs:

• 1 pound ground beef or a combination of beef and pork

• 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

• 1/4 cup chopped fresh Parsley

• 1 large egg

• 2 cloves of garlic, minced

• Salt and black pepper to taste

• Marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

For the jars:

• 4-6 sub-rolls or baguettes, cut in half and hollowed out

• grated mozzarella cheese

• fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven:

• Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare meatballs:

a.Mix ingredients: – In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley,

egg, minced garlic, salt and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

B.C. Forming the meatballs: – Form the mixture into small meatballs about 2.5cm in diameter.

c.Cook the meatballs: – In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the meatballs on all sides. You don’t need to

cook them thoroughly as they finish cooking in the oven.

3. Assembling meatball jars:

a. Prepare the rolls: – Cut the rolls or baguettes in half lengthwise and hollow out the center slightly to make

room for the meatballs.B. Layering Meatballs and Sauce: – Place meatballs in hollowed out portion of each bun. –

Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs.

c. Top with cheese: – Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and sauce.4. Bake:

• Place the assembled meatball boats on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 to 20

minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. Decorate and serve:

• Remove from the oven and decorate with fresh basil or parsley.

6.Enjoy:

• Serve the hot dumpling jars and enjoy this delicious and filling meal!
