Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings with Soy Sauce

Golden and crispy on the outside, tender inside, and tossed in a savory, sticky garlic-soy glaze—these wings are irresistibly delicious and make the perfect appetizer or dinner treat!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken wings (cut into pieces)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tbsp ginger (minced)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • ½ tsp sesame oil

  • Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Directions:

1. Prep the Chicken Wings

  • Pat wings dry with paper towels.

  • In a bowl, toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper to coat evenly.

2. Fry the Wings

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add the wings in a single layer and fry for 8–10 minutes per side until crispy and golden.

  • Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.

3. Make the Sauce

  • In another skillet, heat a splash of oil.

  • Sauté the garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Coat the Wings

  • Add fried wings into the sauce and toss to coat completely.

  • Let cook for another 1–2 minutes so sauce becomes sticky and flavorful.

5. Serve

  • Transfer to a platter, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve hot.

  • Prep: 10 minutes

  • Cook: 20 minutes

  • Servings: 2–4 people

  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick

  • Try with boneless chicken bites for a party platter
