Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Muffins Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pound ground sausage

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large egg

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it well.

Cook Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until it is browned and cooked through.
Drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, sour cream, and egg. Mix well.
Combine Ingredients:
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Fold in the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions (if using).
Fill Muffin Tin:
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
Top each muffin with a little extra shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
