Sloppy Joe Biscuit Casserole

 

 

Ingredients:

 

Ground Beef: 1 pound (450 grams)

Onion: 1 medium, diced

Bell Peppers: 1 red and 1 yellow, diced

Garlic: 2 cloves, minced

Tomato Sauce: 1 can (15 ounces / 425 grams)

Tomato Paste: 2 tablespoons

Worcestershire Sauce: 1 tablespoon

Brown Sugar: 1 tablespoon

Mustard: 1 tablespoon

Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon

Salt: to taste

Black Pepper: to taste

Biscuits: 1 can (8 biscuits)

Cheddar Cheese: 1 cup, shredded

Instructions:

 

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess

Add Vegetables: Add the diced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the

vegetables are softened.

Make Sauce: Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard,

chili powder, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until

thickened.

Transfer to Casserole Dish: Pour the sloppy joe mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

Add Biscuits: Arrange the biscuits on top of the sloppy joe mixture.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the biscuits and bake for an

additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
