Heaven on Earth Cake




1-2 store-bought or homemade angel food cakes

1 (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix

1 1/2 cups milk


1 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling, divided

1 (8 oz.) container frozen, whipped topping, thawed

Slivered almonds, garnish, as desired (toasted, optional)




Step 1: The angel food cake (s) dice into pieces. size pieces.Step 2: In a large bowl, stir together the pudding mix and cold milk, then stir in the Greek yogurt until smooth.

Step 3: Spread 1/2 cake cube evenly in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, then top with 2/3 of the cherry cake filling.

Step 4: Cover with the remaining cake cubes, pour the pudding mixture over the cake and carefully spread it into an even layer.

Step 5: Using a rubber or offset spatula, spread the frozen whipped cream over the pudding layer, then drizzle the remaining cherry pie filling over the pudding and sprinkle with slivered almonds.

Step 6: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 3 hours or overnight.
