This apple and cream cheese crumble cake is a delightful combination of a moist cake, creamy cheese layer, and a sweet, crumbly topping. It’s perfect for dessert or as a special treat with your coffee or tea. Here’s how to make it:

For the Cake:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Apple Filling:

3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Crumble Topping:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan.

Prepare the Cake Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and spread it evenly.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:

In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar until smooth.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter in the pan.

Prepare the Apple Filling:

In a bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until the apples are well coated.

Spread the apple mixture over the cream cheese layer in the pan.

Prepare the Crumble Topping:

In a small bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple layer.

Bake the Cake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before removing the sides of the springform pan. Let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Slice and serve the cake. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

Apples: Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best texture in the filling.

Cream Cheese Layer: Ensure the cream cheese is well softened before mixing to avoid lumps in the filling.

Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Enjoy your apple and cream cheese crumble cake, a deliciously layered dessert that’s perfect for any occasion!
