Southern Tea Cake Cookies

Ingredients

o 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour

o ¼ teaspoon salt

o ¼ teaspoon baking soda

o 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature

o 3/4 cup granulated sugar

o 1 Tbsp eggs room temperature, pure ingredients

How to Make Southern Tea Cake Cookies

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside

2. In the bowl of the stand mixer. Add butter and sugar. Then mix together on high speed until

smooth and creamy (about 4-5 minutes)

3.Turn the mixer up to medium speed. Add 1 egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined

4. Finally, turn on the mixer on low speed. And add the flour mixture, beat occasionally. Mix well three

times after mixing

5. After mixing the flour well. Turn off the mixer and remove the dough from the mixer and place it in

a Ziploc bag and refrigerate for at least an hour to harden.6. When the dough is firm. Take it out of

the fridge. and preheat the oven to 325 degrees

7. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

8.Use an icespoon scoop to scoop out a tablespoon-sized portion of the cookie dough and roll it into

a ball. Use your thumb to gently press the center. Beat it a little and put it in the pan

9. We do the same with the remaining dough. Leave at least 1 1/2 inches of space between each

dough ball.

10.Bake it for 9-11 minutes until the edges are golden, then take it out of the oven

11. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes and serve.

Remember to make sure your ingredients are at room temperature. They will mix together much

better and create an amazing

batter mix, so your Southern Tea Cake will taste as good as the day it was baked. Store in an airtight

container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to a week. If you want to keep their

delicious texture for a long time, you can freeze the tea cakes. Just make sure it’s wrapped tightly and

it will keep for up to three months.
