Hawaiian French Toast Bake

Ingredients:

1 package (12-16 pieces) Hawaiian Rolls dessert, whole

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup refined sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup walnuts

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained

1/2 cup grated mango (optional)

1/2 cup grated coconut (optional)

For the sauce (optional): 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and reserved

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 water cup chopped macadamia nuts or almonds

Instructions:

 

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease a 9×13 baking pan.

2. Mix eggs, whole milk, coconut milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, pineapple, mango and

coconut in a bowl. Add the rolls and let them sit for 10 minutes.

3. Place the mixture in a baking dish.

4. Prepare the topping (optional): Combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and hazelnuts. Stir until the

butter melts. Sprinkle the french fries on top.

5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set aside.

Serve hot with a sweetener such as powdered sugar or syrup, if desired.
